I found these “how to install a ceiling fan” videos and thought they gave a nice explanation the ceiling fan wiring process fairly well.  The videos clearly identify the colored wires and their purpose.  These ceiling fan wiring videos also demonstrate how to install a ceiling fan lighting kit.

These Ceiling Fan Wiring videos do not mention to turn off the power at the breaker box. So I will say this now: Turn Off The Power At The Breaker Box for the circuit leg you will be working with and confirm it is off with a voltage tester before installing your ceiling fan.
